Aiken Group buys Arbroath based manufacturing company

Aberdeen-based Aiken Group has bought Arbroath-based D&M Manufacturing & Welding for an undisclosed sum.  As part of Aiken Group, the company will now be known as Aiken Fabrication and it is hoped that that move will create local jobs in the near future.

Aiken Group is a supplier of integrated, out-sourced and solutions-based engineering and specialist services principally accommodation; engineering, construction and modification and technology and project management.

As well as being geographically significant to the company’s ongoing growth, the additional Arbroath premises will add 10,000 square feet of space and two 15-tonne cranes to Aiken Group’s capabilities.

Danny Donald, Managing Director of Aiken Group, said: “There are many good reasons for us to have a presence in Angus, not least the fact that this facility will work in synergy with the other parts of our business and position us in a location which we believe is important for the future vibrancy of our business.
