Aiken Group Opens New Base To Accommodate New Division

Aberdeen-based Aiken Group is to open a new base on the outskirts of the city to accommodate its latest expansion venture.

The company is a supplier of integrated, out-sourced and solutions-based engineering and specialist services principally accommodation; engineering, construction and modification and technology and project management.  It is well known for its offshore expertise in accommodation provision and has recently made significant inroads into key onshore sectors, including the award of contracts totalling in the region of £1 million.

Now, in response to customer demand, Aiken Group has announced an expansion into the accommodation module rental market and has opened a four-acre site at Marywell on the outskirts of the city to house its rental fleet.

The extensive fleet will augment the sales options available by providing A60 pressurised and non-pressurised containers which can be kitted out to clients’ exact specifications for offshore and onshore projects.

For Aiken Group Managing Director Danny Donald, the move represents something of a return to his professional roots as he explained: “Early on in my career, I gained a large amount of experience in the rental market so Aiken Group’s move into that space is a natural evolution for the company, and I hope that my background in the sector will offer useful experience which we can draw on as we enter this exciting new phase.

“With our Crombie Road headquarters operating at capacity, this additional site at Marywell will provide the ideal base from which we can explore this new area of business and further enhance our ethos of diversification across the business.”
