Aldi and B&M are set to open their first stores in Fraserburgh if a new £12 million retail park proposed for the town is approved, as reported in The Press and Journal.
The Colaren Quays Business Park will bring major retailers to the area, improving shopping variety for Fraserburgh and wider Aberdeenshire, and is expected to create over 100 permanent jobs in addition to more than 150 roles during construction.
Colaren Homes, the developer behind the plan, intends to submit a full planning application in the coming months, with the aim for construction to begin before the end of 2026.

Managing director Colin Smith emphasised the positive impact, saying: “This is good news for Fraserburgh. Colaren Quays will not only bring in much-needed retail variety for shoppers in the whole of Aberdeenshire but also create new employment opportunities and attract inward investment into the town”.
The retail park proposal demonstrates renewed confidence in Fraserburgh’s growing commercial appeal, as the area seeks to attract new national retailers.
