TWO of Peterhead Seafood Supplier Amity’s signature products have been ranked among some of the best produce in the country, receiving a Great Taste star each in this year’s prestigious Great Taste Awards.
Their bestselling Panko Breaded Single Wholetail Scampi has been re-awarded a Great Taste star after first winning the accolade in 2021, with judges adoring the “sweet and plump” scampi that delivered on flavour.
In a welcome surprise, this year Amity’s Panko Breaded Queenie Scallops have also been awarded a star, with judges deeming the product “sweet, soft and succulent” with a lovely crunch.
The Great Taste 1-star rating signifies these products are ‘simply delicious’ in the eyes of the judges and so they join a prestigious group of food and drink products that have been singled out for being impressively delicious.
Amity’s Great Taste success comes at the end of a rigorous judging process where over 14,000 products have undergone thorough blind taste-testing by a selection of chefs, buyers, fine food retailers, restaurateurs, food critics and writers over 70 judging days.
Great Taste is the largest and most trusted accreditation scheme for fine food and drink, offering a unique benchmarking and product evaluation service leading to an independent accreditation that encourages confidence and commercial success for small business, generating greater awareness for products locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Since 1994, more than 130,000 products have been put through this robust judging process.

Amity’s double-nomination follows a successful 2022 so far for the seafood supplier; shortlisted at a host of regional and National Awards over summer; the seafood supplier was also named Small Business of the Year by the Federation of Small Businesses at the UK awards earlier this year.
