Aberdeen-based AMS Global Group has reinforced its long-term commitment to the North East of Scotland following the acquisition of new premises, supported by a funding package from Barclays.
The move marks a significant milestone for the specialist marine surveying and safety services company, providing long-term security and a permanent base to support continued expansion across both UK and international markets.
The funding package includes a Barclays Green Loan, which will support the acquisition and redevelopment of the site. AMS Global Group plans to refurbish and enhance the premises, creating a more sustainable, efficient and future-ready facility aligned with its environmental and operational goals.
Situated within the North East Scotland Investment Zone, the acquisition underlines the company’s confidence in Aberdeen as a strategic hub for its next phase of growth. It also highlights the region’s ongoing appeal as a centre for ambitious, globally focused businesses.
Neil Carr, Managing Director of AMS Global Group, said: “This acquisition is an important milestone for AMS Global Group and reflects our confidence in Aberdeen as the right location for the next stage of our growth.
“Barclays has been a supportive banking partner throughout the process and has played an important role in helping us bring these plans to fruition.
“As we continue to expand our operations across the UK and internationally, owning our premises gives us the certainty and flexibility to invest in a facility that supports our people, our customers and our long-term ambitions.”
David Loughlin, Relationship Manager at Barclays Business Bank, added: “AMS Global Group is an ambitious North East business with a growing global footprint, and we’re proud to support this investment in its future.
In Case You Missed it:
“This acquisition gives the business greater control over its operations, supports its sustainability goals and anchors further growth here in Aberdeen. It’s a strong example of how access to finance can help businesses invest locally while competing and growing internationally.”
The investment also reflects Barclays’ wider commitment to supporting Scottish businesses, providing access to finance and expertise to enable growth, resilience and long-term success.
