Dales Marine Services Ltd, a leading ship repair and marine engineering specialist, is excited to announce that applications for its 2025 apprenticeship programme are now open.

This initiative reaffirms the company’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of skilled workers in the maritime industry.

With apprenticeship opportunities available at its Aberdeen, Leith, and Greenock dry dock facilities, Dales Marine continues to invest in the future workforce by offering hands-on training and career development opportunities. Dales Marine has a longstanding tradition of fostering young talent through its apprenticeship scheme, which has been running since 1990. This year, the company is proud to offer 12 apprenticeship positions in key trade disciplines, including welding and steelwork fabrication, and mechanical engineering. Apprentices will undergo a structured four-year training programme, combining classroom-based education with invaluable on-the-job experience, ensuring they acquire the skills necessary for a successful career in the maritime and ship repair industry.

A commitment to the future

“Our apprenticeship programme has been a cornerstone of our workforce development strategy for decades,” said Paul O’Brien, operations director at Dales Marine Services. “We take great pride in training and supporting apprentices, many of whom remain with the company long after completing their training. We see this as an investment not just in individuals, but in the long-term success of the Scottish maritime sector.”
