The event debuted in September 2023, attracting approximately 14,000 attendees to Peterhead’s Port and Harbour.

The decision to hold the event biennially was made to allow more planning time and ensure its continued success, given the scale of the celebration.

Organised by a small team of volunteers in just seven weeks, the festival showcased the region’s outstanding seafood industry and won the Best New Food and Drink Tourism Experience at the North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards 2024

The 2023 festival featured diverse activities, including live cooking demonstrations by leading north-east chefs, wild cooking workshops, free children’s entertainment, filleting demonstrations, and an emergency services showcase.
