IMPROVEMENT works are to be carried out to Back Wynd steps which means they will be closed for about 10 weeks from today (25 September 2023), weather depending.

The works to the stairs, which connect Union Street to The Green beside Primark, will be to reduce slip, trip, and fall hazards, improve accessibility for the visually impaired, and repair and restore the handrail and balustrade.

Pedestrians are asked to use an alternative route via Correction Wynd steps. The project is funded by Transport Scotland’s Cycling Walking Safer Routes funding.
