The venue, which was built in the heart of Royal Deeside in 1873, was given the local honours for Romantic Hotel and Country House Hotel.

In recent years the hotel has received a number of other accolades. It was named North-East Boutique Hotel of the Year and North-East Restaurant of the Year in last year’s Scottish Hotel Awards, while general manager Phillip Fleming received a gold medal. The hotel was a finalist in this year’s Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards. It also holds four star ratings from both VisitScotland and the Scottish Hotel Guide.

It will now join the other regional winners at the national finals of the 2015 Scottish Hotel Awards, taking place at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza on April 19.

Commenting on the hotel’s success, general manager Phillip Fleming said: “Winning these important regional awards is further testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone on the team at Tor-na-Coille Hotel & Restaurant, and we are now crossing our fingers for further recognition in Glasgow later in the month.”
