Cala Homes (North) visited Banchory Primary School to talk to children about the homebuilding industry and educate them about the dangers of playing in and around construction sites.

Primary seven classes enjoyed the interactive ‘Stay Safe, Stay Away’ session which covered the history of building homes as well as showcasing the varied career opportunities within the industry. The session also warned pupils about the dangers of going into construction areas unsupervised.

Dawn Baxter, Regional Health Safety and Environmental Advisor for Cala Homes (North), visited the Banchory school pupils to discuss how Cala keeps its nearby Raemoir Park development safe and highlighted some of the hidden dangers that can be found on building sites.

The initiative is a core part of Cala Homes North’s Community Pledge, showcasing the housebuilder’s commitment to bring meaningful investment to its local communities.

Dawn said: “The Stay Safe, Stay Away programme is designed to spread the message to children that construction sites are not somewhere to play. The initiative makes sure children and young people know that the message is serious, but it is presented in a way that’s easy for them to digest.”

Dawn added: “Another aim of this initiative is to bring to life for young people how new homes are developed and the important role that housebuilders play in creating sustainable new communities. It was great to see the children engaged with the presentation; they especially enjoyed the interactive part of the lesson where they could try on different types of PPE which we use on site.”

Cala Homes’ Raemoir Park development, located in the heart of Banchory, features a range of four- and five-bedroom detached homes.

Homes start from £349,950. Homebuyers can find out more about the development by visiting https://www.cala.co.uk/homes-for-sale/scotland/aberdeenshire/raemoir-park-banchory
