Bancon Group has secured two major national accolades in a single evening, recognising both its delivery of large-scale affordable housing and its commitment to workforce development across the business.
The Aberdeenshire-based group was honoured at the Scottish Home Awards and the cHeRries Awards, held on 18 June in Glasgow and Aberdeen respectively.
At the Scottish Home Awards, hosted at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, Bancon Construction won the Social Housing Development of the Year (over 100 units) category for its Cloverhill development in Aberdeen. The project comprises 536 affordable homes and has been recognised for its scale, quality and contribution to the local housing supply.
On the same evening, at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Bancon Group was also named Culture Transformation Project of the Year at the cHeRries Awards. The award reflects an 18-month programme aimed at strengthening employee engagement and collaboration across its construction, timber frame manufacturing and housebuilding operations.

The group’s culture transformation programme has focused on improving communication, wellbeing and long-term workforce development, underpinned by its core values of One Team, We Care, We Trust, Sustainability and Development.
Initiatives introduced include leadership development programmes spanning site and office teams, enhanced communication channels, and new wellbeing and engagement schemes. Employees across the business – from mental health first aiders and mentors to experienced site teams – have contributed to shaping a more inclusive and connected working environment.

Bancon Construction was also shortlisted in the Housing Development of the Year (Large Private Sale) category at the Scottish Home Awards for its Queens Gate development on the north-eastern edge of Strathaven. Part of the wider East Overton masterplan, the development offers a mix of three, four and five-bedroom homes, with Phase 3 due to launch later this year.
