  • Increased Insulation and Double Glazing: Included as standard Bancon’s homes are built with modern and highly efficient insulation and Argon-filled double glazing throughout. These allow the warmth from the sun in whilst minimising heat loss, helping buyers to manage energy costs and make their home a comfortable temperature all year round.
  • Air-Tight Timber Frame Construction:  Built to minimise uncontrolled air leakage, the company’s timber frame homes have high levels of thermal performance and reduced unwanted drafts. The timber used is also naturally renewable and responsibly sourced from managed forests, providing not just an energy efficient building envelope, but a sustainable home.
  • Sustainable uPVC Windows and Doors: With exceptional levels of air tightness and weathering performance uPVC windows and doors offer a truly sustainable as well as energy efficient option. Incredibly strong and long lasting, uPVC can be recycled up to 10 times without loss of quality.
  • Solar PV Panels: Reduce electricity costs with integrated solar photo voltaic panels. Positioned on the roof to make the best use of the sun, this renewable technology will contribute to homeowners’ energy needs with the potential for any surplus to be sold back to the National Grid.
  • Lower Cost Lighting: With energy saving / LED lighting throughout, homes are cheaper to light than traditional methods, as well as lower maintenance.
  •  High Performance Kitchen Appliances: Included as standard, designer kitchens are fitted with highly efficient kitchen appliances.  Bancon Homes only chooses suppliers who take energy efficiency seriously and have demonstrated their desire to achieve greater energy performance and reduced water consumption, with a view to reducing the carbon footprint for their customers.
  • Efficient Central heating: The latest central heating and hot water systems ensure home are warm, with lots of hot water, as cost effectively as possible.

Commenting on the upcoming Energy Efficiency Weekend, Andy Stewart, Head of Design and Technical at Bancon Homes, said: “At Bancon Homes we are passionate about designing homes which help our customers reduce their annual energy costs, lead lower-carbon lives, and minimise the release of greenhouse gas emissions. Incorporating the latest technologies, our stunning homes are typically built to an EPC “Band B” Energy Efficiency Rating. This compares to a much lower “Band D” Rating for the average house in Scotland.  So, when you are thinking of moving home, especially in the current climate, a new build home has so much to offer, keeping you warm in Winter as cost effectively as possible.”
