CASH Access UK has arranged an event aimed at bringing a Banking Hub to Banff. This drop-in event will take place Thursday 24 October between 10.00am and 2.00pm at the Vinery in Banff where local people can discuss the plans.

The move follows the announcement of the last banks left in the town to close their branches in the near future.  Macduff has already lost its branches of Clydesdale Bank, Bank of Scotland and the TSB, while in Banff the Royal Bank and Clydesdale Bank have closed with the Bank of Scotland and TSB set to close soon.

Aberdeenshire North and Moray East MP Seamus Logan is urging constituents in the Banff and Macduff area to attend an event. He commented:

“While the relentless closure of bank branches the length and breadth of the country continues to deprive communities of local access to financial advice or easy access to cash, I’m very pleased that progress is being made in bringing a Banking Hub to Banff.

“This will bring together all the major banks on different days across the Hub where customers will still be able to access staff from their own bank.

“This drop-in event is therefore an excellent opportunity for people in the area not only to find out more but to demonstrate that there is a need for such a facility in Banff to serve the local community.”
