Beach Boulevard now closed for over a year as work starts

30/09/2024

A busy stretch of the Beach Boulevard in Aberdeen has closed and will not reopen until 2026 due to regeneration works.

The road, which connects the beach to the Castlegate in the city centre, is now shut between its junctions with the Esplanade and Links Road.

This closure is to allow work to begin on the sites for the new beach park and events field by the main contractor, Robertson Construction Group. The area will be fenced off to allow construction to be carried out safely.

Signposted diversion routes via Links Road and the Esplanade will be in operation. Two-way traffic on the Esplanade past the Queens Links Leisure Park will continue. The temporary closure will remain in place until the beach park and events field works are completed in 2026.
