OFFSHORE contractor Bilfinger Salamis UK has secured a three-year global multi-million-pound support contract to provide offshore execution services, including inspection and enactment services, to Altera Infrastructure Production AS.

The award comes on the back of a successful period of growth for Bilfinger’s inspection department, with the company on track to double its inspection revenue by 2023.

The new agreement sees Bilfinger extend its existing service delivery with Altera Infrastructure, providing a range of conventional and advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services on assets operated by Altera in the UK.

Dr David Hall, Bilfinger Salamis UK operations director, said: “The award recognises our unrivalled commitment, track record and reputation for delivering the highest standards of service safety and efficiency, and stems from over 15 years’ experience in providing a full range of inspection enactment and engineering support services across the sector.”

Bilfinger Salamis UK has extensive experience with Altera Infrastructure, having worked with the company since 2014, providing maintenance and environmental services on the Petrojarl I, Foinaven, Petrojarl Banff, Voyageur Spirit and Hummingbird Spirit assets.

This award follows a significant five-year inspection and enactment contract with a major offshore operator in Q2 2020 and the growth of Bilfinger Salamis UK’s onshore inspection delivery for a number of oil, gas and renewable energy operators in the UK and north-west Europe.
