ABERDEEN-based Bon Accord Heritage announces new Board of Trustees to lead the Save Bon Accord Baths project into its next phase. The announcement follows a successful annual general meeting hosted at the historic art deco swimming pool.
Led by reappointed Chair and Vice-Chair, Bruce Strachan and Jack Burnett-Stuart, the registered charity will be driven by new Secretary, Graham Cooper, Treasurer, Maria Bosher, and Trustees, Alison Reid, Becky Orlinski, Craig McAndie, David Loumgair, Gordon Cantlay, Ian Mitchell, Lisa Jaffray, Mark Baker, Richard Wolfe, Ross Mckirdy, Steven Cooper, and Susan Caie.

The Board announcement comes at a pivotal stage for the project, which aims to see the leisure facility reopened to the public following extensive renovation work throughout the building. In recent months the voluntary group has spearheaded critical survey and reporting efforts essential for the Category B listed building, in addition to hosting events that provide an opportunity for the local community to experience the building in an entirely new way. Recent events have included Aberdeen Jazz Festival – Soundbath and a captivating concert from Aberdeen University’s Chamber Choir.
Commenting on the Board announcement and the future of the project, Chair Bruce Strachan said: “It is a privilege to be nominated as Chair of Bon Accord Heritage for the fourth year running. We have made significant progress with the project in recent years, and this is testament to our incredible Board and to the support from the local community.
“We are a group of volunteers who are passionate about seeing Bon Accord Baths restored to its former glory. With a diverse skillset ranging from construction, architecture and town planning to HR, community engagement, wellbeing and HSE, we are well positioned to make these ambitious plans a reality for Aberdeen’s future.”
