SUGARBIRD Wines has officially launched two bookable event spaces at SugarBird in the Gardens, its new double-storey venue at The Burns Pavilion in Union Terrace Gardens (UTG), which is set to open in November 2023.
Upstairs, a maximum of 15 guests can take advantage of a private space looking out towards Union Street, while for larger celebrations, events with up to 50 guests can accommodate the entire downstairs bar.

The upper and lower level spaces are aptly titled SugarBird with a View and SugarBird on the Terrace respectively, and can be booked up to six months in advance.
Boasting an impressive wine selection of more than 60 still and sparkling options curated from all over the world, the venue offers personalised packages that can be tailored to each occasion.
Starting at £16 per person, with the option of adding a grazing cheese and charcuterie table for £14 per person, organisers will be invited to sample wine ahead of their event and work alongside SugarBird’s expert team to create their own wine selection that complements the celebration.
Additionally, for those who would like an even more enhanced experience, the team is also able to host private wine tastings exclusive to the booking, taking guests on a journey of discovery across a myriad of wines. For parties interested in running a paid-for bar, a token system is also available.
Ruth Grahame, co-founder of SugarBird Wines said: “Launching our booking system for these two spaces is another milestone in the SugarBird journey, as we edge closer to our official opening date this November!
“The new space is perfect for personal celebrations including engagement parties, micro weddings, birthdays and showers, but it’s also ideal for corporate events such as networking, drink receptions, Christmas parties and launch events.
“With the venue already proving so popular with the public since we unveiled our plans in June, we’re expecting our event spaces to fill up quickly, especially as we open at the beginning of the festive season. We recommend enquiring soon to avoid disappointment!”
Designed by award-winning interior designer and architect Tibbatts Abel, the venue provides a unique and stylish setting by incorporating jewel tones that balance luxury, quality and comfort while creating a relaxing ambience.
SugarBird in the Gardens follows the huge success of SugarBird Wines, the brand’s first bar and retail space on Union Grove, as well as its online store. Outwith its bookable event spaces, the new wine bar has capacity for up to 100 people and includes an outdoor terrace overlooking UTG, opening in Spring 2024.
In due course, the venue will announce its official event calendar, which will include booking availability for its extremely popular group wine tastings.
