BPerfect has opened a new beauty pop-up store in the Trinity Centre, drawing large crowds for a ribbon-cutting led by founder Brendan McDowell, with television personality Ekin-Su as special guest.

The launch on Thursday, the 9th of October, adds a third Scottish site to the fast-growing brand’s estate, which now comprises 14 stores across the UK and Ireland. The Aberdeen outlet stocks the company’s full range, including make-up, tanning and its newer skincare lines.

Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said the opening signalled renewed momentum on Union Street. “This is BPerfect’s third Scottish store, adding to the 14 they have across the UK and Ireland, and it is a huge vote of confidence that this hugely popular brand has chosen the Trinity Centre, sitting right on Union Street, as its latest outlet. There is no doubt this choice is a result of the Trinity Centre’s constant drive to attract new retailers and play their vital role in regenerating the city centre. It really is just a perfect move for the centre and for the heart of Aberdeen.”

Kenny Bruce, centre manager for Trinity Aberdeen, said the arrival strengthens the destination’s line-up. “It is fantastic to bring BPerfect to the Trinity Centre, a brand that further enhances the centre’s retail offering, supporting our commitment to bring new brands to Aberdeen. Earlier in the year, we saw Lovisa open at the centre and they have traded beyond all expectations. Brands are seeing the benefits of the growth at the centre and are investing in their stores to enhance their offer with us as well.”

Brendan McDowell said the city had long been on the company’s expansion plan. “Aberdeen has been on our radar for some time as a location for a store and the Trinity Centre is the perfect location, right in the heart of the city and with a complimentary tenant mix for us to open a new store.”

Property adviser Susanne Morris of Johnstone Property Consultants added that the deal aligns with a wider repositioning of the mall. “This new addition to the Trinity Centre reflects the strategy we have been working on with the landlord to revitalise the tenant mix to better suit the fantastic location of the scheme within Aberdeen.”

With strong opening-day footfall and a high-profile launch, stakeholders say the store underlines growing retailer confidence in Aberdeen’s city centre and supports continuing efforts to broaden the offer on and around Union Street.
