A Scottish ISP specialising in full-fibre broadband has expanded its offering into Aberdeen as part of a move that has grown its network coverage to reach a staggering 500,000 properties across Scotland.

BrawBand will now provide its acclaimed gigabit broadband to properties in Aberdeen, Dundee and Stirling alongside its existing offering in Inverness and Renfrewshire.

As part of the move, the ISP will also extend its services in Edinburgh and Glasgow, now covering all postcodes within the central belt cities.

David Munro, director of product at BrawBand operator Focus Group, said: “We firmly believe that everyone in Scotland deserves access to high speed internet. Being able to expand our network across a huge portion of the country is an exciting step towards making that dream a reality – and we can’t wait for customers to experience what surfing the web with BrawBand is like.”

To coincide with the nationwide rollout, Inverness-headquartered BrawBand has launched three new full fibre broadband packages – The Bairn, The Pure Rapid One, and The Belter – which offer up to 900 Mbps download and upload speeds.

David continued: “Scotland has the least access to full-fibre broadband in the UK – with 48% of homes able to access it, compared to 92% in Northern Ireland. We’re delighted to be bringing BrawBand to even more homes than ever before, ensuring more people in Scotland have access to high quality internet for browsing, streaming, gaming and working from home.

“And as availability grows across the country, we plan to grow too, ensuring everyone has access to the high speed internet needed for modern life. After all, it’s braw not to buffer.”

With packages starting from £27.95 per month, BrawBand balances affordability with first class service and the highest quality equipment to ensure buffering and lag are things of the past. And until December, new customers can take advantage of huge discounts on its top packages.

The firm’s expanded coverage comes as part of the CityFibre network, allowing the ISP access to a greater geographical area.

Paul Wakefield, senior partnership manager for Scotland at CityFibre, added: “We’re delighted that BrawBand is expanding across our Scottish footprint and offering residents and businesses more choice when it comes to internet packages. We’re extremely proud of our rollout in Scotland as full fibre has the potential to truly transform the digital capabilities of Scotland.”
