In Aberdeen, creative venues where you can paint ceramics or canvases are few and far between, making Osman’s Ceramics on 262 George Street a highlight in the city’s leisure scene.

This family-run venue offers something the city has long been missing: a friendly, vibrant space where people of all ages can relax, make art, and socialise- all under one roof.

Rather than traditional pottery sessions, Osman’s gives guests the freedom to decorate ready-made ceramics or blank canvases.

With bright acrylics, neon colours, and a wide array of artistic tools, anyone can create a personalised mug, plate, or bold canvas masterpiece- no experience required.

Sessions are easy and mess-free, centred on the joy of painting and self-expression, all while the kitchen serves up comforting food, cakes, and drinks to complete the experience.

A key feature that set’s Osman’s Ceramics apart is its soft play area, which offers a welcoming option for families. Children can play and have fun in a safe space while adults enjoy painting activities or take time to relax in the café.

Ceramic painting at Osman’s is available for both kids and adults, with prices starting at £12 per item. The venue hosts regular themed events and provides bundle deals that combine art with food and drink, and customers can take home their finished ceramic piece on the same day.

Speaking about the success of ceramics at Osman’s, owner Eyup Simpil said: “The uptake has been absolutely fantastic, it’s been amazing to see people from all walks of life come in and enjoy it, from 3-year-olds to elderly guests, hen dos to groups of businessmen.

“It’s such a popular option and a brilliant addition to what we offer alongside our splatter paint and soft play. I even gave it a go myself, and I was surprised at just how therapeutic and relaxing it felt.

“It’s wonderful to see people unwind, get creative, and take something special home with them.”

At a time when few Aberdeen venues offer such a blend of creativity and café culture, Osman’s Ceramics is fast becoming a city favourite, a warm, inclusive spot for birthday parties, casual afternoons out, and anyone in search of a cheerful artistic escape.
