On the 25th – 27th March, we welcome the 22nd Annual Meeting of the United Kingdom Continence Society. The three-day Conference is expected to attract around 300 experts to the Region; with a scientific programme offering high quality, clinical education for all specialists promoting continence.

Europe’s largest aviation trade event, Routes Europe, heads to Aberdeen on 12th – 14th April 2015. This event will be the first Routes Europe conference to be held in the UK and as the largest regional Routes event is an essential gathering for all aviation based companies seeking to conduct business to, from and within the European region. It brings together a wide range of airlines, airports and tourism authorities, including budget, flagship and national carriers from the whole region, and is expected to attract up to 1,300 delegates to the region.

“We’re delighted to be taking Routes Europe to Aberdeen this year. The event, which is the largest of our regional route development forums, has experienced substantial year on year growth and with over 1,200 delegates expected; the AECC has offered us scope to grow,” said Katie Bland, Director Routes for UBM EMEA continuing: “Aberdeen International Airport is already well connected across Europe and will allow easy access for our delegates who will experience the economically vibrant region of the North-East of Scotland and the many business and leisure opportunities on offer. The enthusiasm and dedication of the entire host team promise to make Routes Europe in 2015 a truly memorable event.”

Returning to AECC for the first time since 2011, the VisitScotland Expo will be at the Venue on 22nd and 23rd April 2015. The event will see around 240 Scottish businesses promoting their Scottish tourism products and services to the 2,000 expected visitors during this business to business event.

On 22nd – 24th April we will be welcoming the Energy Cities Annual Conference, which sees European local authorities sharing examples of successful energy transition projects, the new business models they are based on and their positive impact on the local economy. Aberdeen makes the ideal host City for this event as the energy sector has been driving Aberdeen’s economy for a long time, making it an inspiring place to invite political leaders and local representatives from all over Europe to meet and exchange knowledge. The Conference is expected to attract around 300 delegates to the City.

Around 400 delegates are expected to attend the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists Conference when it comes to AECC on 13th – 15th May. The event will be run jointly alongside the Society of Paediatric Anaesthesia, an American association that focus on the safety and quality of anaesthetists care. By providing this joint opportunity the two associations can compare and contrast practice on both sides of the Atlantic.

Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director, commented: “The high level of association business coming to the City in the next few months is fantastic; both for the Venue and for the Region. With a combined total of 4,750 delegates expected to attend these events, the economic benefit of these events totals well over £5million.”
