LEADING Scottish recruitment agency, Cammach Bryant, has shown its backing for not-for-profit Aberdeen-based football coaching company ZesT Football Club by becoming the first sponsor for ZesT’s Additional Support Needs (ASN) football team. The team has recently been competing in the Disability Scottish Cup.
The recruitment agency’s sponsorship commitment also saw them pay for four 5-12 year olds to attend the club’s free or ‘pay what you can’ football camps in the North East this summer. Speaking about the sponsorship, Cammach Bryant Managing Director, Iona Currie, said:

“We are delighted to be able to support an organisation that is doing some real good in our community. Zander Thornton founded ZesT FC while undergoing a period of rehabilitation for addiction, with the aim of helping and supporting those less fortunate. It’s a great organisation and Zander’s personal story is really inspiring.”
“Zander is committed to keeping ZesT FC football summer camps and coaching free for those who could not afford it otherwise so it is accessible to people from all backgrounds. It is something Cammach Bryant is delighted to support and we are already looking to extend our involvement with the initiative in 2023.”
Speaking about the generous support of Cammach Bryant, which is one of Scotland’s leading recruitment agencies, with its main office based in Aberdeen, ZesT FC founder, Thornton, said:
“It’s great to have the support of people like Cammach Bryant and Iona, who I know from my past working life. It’s this type of support that has allowed us to have achieved soo much as a Club in a short period of time.”
“There is soo much more to come from us, and the likes of Iona also. The city needs us, the past 11 months have shown that. Now it is about making the right decisions, coming up with a game plan and developing this.”
“Anyone that spends time with us is hooked, what we do is truly heart warming, we are creating a HOME for loads of people that need our support, it doesn’t just need to be restricted to football, we have a blank canvas that we are slowly painting.”
ZesT FC was established in 2021 by Zander Thornton, from Sheddocksley, Aberdeen. During the COVID pandemic, Thornton’s personal challenges came to a head and he entered a period of rehabilitation, vowing to emerge stronger, help others and spread the word on the importance of mental health and supporting each other in the community. He has channeled his undoubtable passion and energy into ZesT FC whose mission is to provide football coaching on a free / pay what you can model to ensure football is accessible to all.
ZesT, whose motto is Changing Lives Through Football, recently deployed their red ZesT Football Boot Banks around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Donated boots are allocated to children in the community not fortunate enough to have their own.
