The company’s founder, Brenda Bryant, retires from the business after 37 years in the recruitment sector. Long-standing key members of staff will remain with the business providing continuity to both clients and contractors.

The expanded firm will occupy the Bryant offices at 440 Union Street, opposite The Capitol building, and will house 16 members of staff across three floors with room for additional growth.

The deal further strengthens Cammach Recruitment’s current energy sector expertise and considerably extends the number of contracts with North Sea oil and gas operators, while also doubling the number of contractors to more than 200.

Susan Duguid, managing director of Cammach Recruitment, commented that the acquisition of another highly respected business was the “perfect fit” and builds upon a period of sustained growth for the company.

She said: “We are extremely pleased to have acquired Bryant Group to create a strong, local entity with extensive knowledge of the energy sector, and one that will continue to be a market leader in the Aberdeen recruitment sector.

“Having known and respected Brenda, I would like to pay tribute to her years of hard work and dedication to the sector and wider business community. Like us, Bryant Group is a company that has built its reputation by providing a first-class customer service so I am confident that the acquisition will lead to an even stronger offering and continued growth.”

Brenda Bryant, founder of Bryant Group, said: “I have absolutely loved working with our clients and candidates and have always been passionate about providing excellent customer service. I strongly believe that it’s these attributes, combined with a long-standing, loyal staff to whom I am so thankful and who share the same values, that have brought about our success and unblemished reputation over the decades.

“Having made the decision to retire, I can think of no better person to pass the baton to than Susan and it promises to be an exciting new growth opportunity for all members of the team.

“I am confident in knowing that our valued and respected clients, contractors and superb staff will be in safe hands with a strong, successful female leader who shares the same integrity, values and passion for service as myself. In the current climate, the opportunity to combine this level of talent, resources and experience shared between the two well-established firms will bring fantastic benefits for clients and candidates alike as Susan takes the business forward.”

The acquisition follows a period of continued growth, both locally and internationally, for Cammach Recruitment which has resulted in numerous contract wins and the appointment of three new personnel earlier this year.

Susan Duguid added: “We are looking forward to the beginning of an exciting new chapter, with the entire team based under one roof at 440 Union Street.

“This acquisition allows us to further strengthen existing service lines with even greater resources that will, ultimately, create more opportunities for clients and candidates from both Cammach Recruitment and Bryant Group.”

Cammach Recruitment, which was previously based at premises on Greenbank Road, recorded turnover of £6.7million for its August 2017 year-end – a near 30% increase on its previous annual figures of £5.2million. Bryant Group recorded turnover of £7.5million for its May 2017 year-end.

In June, Cammach Recruitment was named as Employer of the Year at the 2017 Elevator Awards. The result was announced in front of more than 400 guests at a black-tie event held at the Mercure Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen.
