The start-up, which will offer contemporary food and drinks at weddings, parties and corporate events across Scotland will celebrate its reveal at Grampian’s largest wedding showcase, Your Wedding Exhibition, at the AECC on Saturday 21st – Sunday 22nd January 2017.

Chris Tonner’s previous business, Beetroot Restaurants Limited, sadly announced last year that it would cease trading despite the popularity of the two restaurants it operated, The Adelphi Kitchen and barbecue restaurant Cue, formally The Courtyard.

Chris explained the key ingredients to the success of his new venture: “Collaboration has become somewhat of a buzzword in and around Aberdeen, where the region is adjusting against the backdrop of a different and more challenging economic position.

“But it’s true that there is power in collaborating and working together and this creative partnership results in a strength and breadth of experience that’s difficult to argue with.

“The name Salt & Sauce combines two of Scotland’s much loved ingredients essential at any event. Salt is one of the basic tastes that we often take for granted but is a key ingredient in everyday meals and tasty sauces. And to a bartender, sauce is a slang word for booze and an important component in any great celebration. Both to be enjoyed responsibly, of course.

“Myself and Adrian have a passion for following and experimenting with food and drink trends and as a result can offer lifestyle food and drink which is carefully partnered and paired. For example, we could offer an abundance of local craft beers to go hand in hand with street food.

“We also aim to approach an event with a relatively blank canvas, working towards our customer’s vision and applying our collective food and drink experience to create something special.

“There is nothing we enjoy better than to contribute a quality service and interesting food and drink to our customers’ important events. The stakes are high and the competition is tough but the prize is great, and Salt & Sauce plans to remain at the forefront of Scotland’s food and drink massive.”
