A former Hydro shop on Aberdeen’s Union Street is set to be transformed into a high-end champagne boutique after a major refurbishment, as reported by the Press & Journal.

The traditional granite-fronted building has undergone a costly revamp, restoring its historic appearance and paving the way for a new luxury retail offering in the Granite Mile.

The new store will specialise in premium champagne and sparkling wine, positioning itself as an upmarket destination for shoppers seeking luxury drinks in the city centre.

The boutique aims to contribute to the ongoing revitalisation of Union Street by attracting customers looking for distinctive, experience-led retail rather than everyday high street shopping.

Shelves are expected to be predominantly stocked with imported goods, reflecting the director’s ambition to offer products not commonly found elsewhere in Aberdeen.

Alongside champagne, the shop plans to sell complementary luxury items such as speciality teas, creating a curated range that targets gift buyers and discerning locals alike.
