AN ABERDEEN charity is asking local businesses for support as it approaches its fourth birthday celebration.
AberNecessities, which supports local children and families living in poverty, is seeking auction prize donations for its upcoming Birthday Ball taking place on 30th September 2023.
The celebration of its fourth year of service and the Birthday Ball are significant milestones for the charity, which, with the support of the community and local businesses, can continue making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
Last year’s birthday ball attracted over 200 guests and raised over £50,000, which is a testament to the support, kindness and generosity alive in the local community. The funds raised were instrumental in enabling AberNecessities to provide essential support to young families in extreme financial hardship.
Despite launching shortly before the arrival of Covid, AberNecessities’ impactful work has already supported over 12,000 children during an extremely challenging time. The Birthday Ball is a significant event for AberNecessities, as it serves as a crucial fundraiser to generate income for the operation.
Danielle Flecher-Horn, who started AberNecessities in 2019 by collecting clothes for local children in her garage in Westhill, is asking businesses in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to support local children by providing raffle and auction prizes. “The birthday ball celebrates the achievements of AberNecessities over the past four years.” she says, “By participating in or contributing to the Birthday Ball, individuals and businesses can play a significant role in supporting AberNecessities’ vision by ensuring that vulnerable children in the region receive the essential items they need to thrive.”
In Case You Missed it:
It has been a busy year, Danielle adds, “Due to Covid and the current cost of living crisis, demand for our service has never been greater which has led to the exponential growth of the organisation. We are hoping local firms will support our efforts by providing aspirational prizes which will be hugely welcomed by our supportive audience.”
The success of the event will significantly contribute to the continuation of AberNecessities essential service. The Birthday Ball is an opportunity for the community to come together and make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, making a positive difference in the lives of even more children and families.
