ABERDEEN-based Ditch Debt with Dignity has secured a £35,000 grant from Scottish Government to strengthen its specialist services to help families and individuals deal practically with financial pressure.

Founded in 2014, Ditch Debt with Dignity provides free financial guidance and support to anyone who needs it and helps with debt solutions.

The new funds have been earmarked to develop a number of initiatives from enhancing its online presence to opening up new hiring opportunities for paid staff positions.

The charity is also working on rolling out a new e-learning programme.

Wendy Fleming, Ditch Debt with Dignity Founder, said: “We are delighted to have secured significant funding to continue with our mission to provide confidential and professional advice to those who are privately struggling with their finances.

“This is an extremely welcome boost that will allow us to develop our online resources to get the word out there to anyone battling with debt that they are not alone and there is free guidance available.”
