This festive season, The Belmont Cinema is offering a triple-bill of some of the season’s most-loved films. The cinema, which is currently fundraising to reopen its venue on Aberdeen’s Belmont Street, will be screening three Christmas classics in the city’s  Cowdray Hall on the 20th of December.

Tickets are available free of charge, with the cinema instead requesting a donation per ticket which will go towards its redevelopment fund, as it works to reopen its doors.

The three films on the silver screen this December are: The Muppet Christmas Carol, Home Alone and perennial favourite, It’s a Wonderful Life. Local cinemagoers have long loved The Belmont’s tradition of showing It’s a Wonderful Life, and this year the team is delighted to be screening two other seasonal blockbusters alongside this classic.

Michelle Soto, Community Development Manager at The Belmont Cinema, says:

“We are excited to be offering three iconic festive films here in the heart of Aberdeen. Whether it’s a family day out watching The Muppet Christmas Carol and Home Alone, rewatching the timeless classic It’s a Wonderful Life – or even staying for all three films – our lineup has something for everyone.

“We have chosen to ask for donations instead of a ticket fee, to ensure that this festive treat is financially accessible to all in our community.

“We’re continuing to fundraise to reopen our cinema in Aberdeen’s city centre and all donations will contribute directly to bringing our independent cinema back.”

The Muppet Christmas Carol, Home Alone and It’s a Wonderful Life will be shown on 20th December at 10.15am, 12.15pm and 2.30pm respectively.

The event is expected to be a sell-out – tickets can be reserved online now to avoid disappointment. Full details, including film certificates and how to donate. https://belmontcinema.co.uk/events
