A recognised innovator in down-hole dart activated tools, Churchill has seen significant year-on-year growth in global exports. The company, which was founded in Aberdeen and has facilities in Houston, Texas, opened a regional hub in the Middle East in 2016 to capture significant market share for its product range. Churchill is now poised to continue expanding in the Gulf of Mexico region and also embed itself further in the Middle Eastern supply chain.

The company was recently shortlisted in the export achievement category for the UK energy industry’s Offshore Achievement Awards and the latest recognition further enhances its reputation as a successful and innovative exporter of contingency well control technology.

Mike Churchill, CEO and commercial director, said: “I am very proud that Churchill can be held up as a genuine Scottish export success story. In 2016, we decided to open a regional hub in the UAE, and within the space of a year we have already exceeded revenue targets by a substantial margin. This success has led to further investment in the region – with additional workshop and talent resources – so that we can continue to build on our achievements.

“Our export success has been driven by the engineering innovation of our products. Our tools are activated faster, are more reliable and have greater application than any of our competitors. We are constantly seeking to improve and develop our technology, and our product pipeline for the year ahead is very exciting.”

The HSBC Scottish Export Awards – in association with Scottish Enterprise, – recognise exporting excellence in emerging, wealth-creating companies that are selling products, services and expertise on an international level.

Winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on 22 March.
