CMS has announced that two of its Aberdeen-based colleagues have been promoted to partner level. They join two other Scottish lawyers amongst the 54 partner promotions unveiled by the firm in its annual global promotions announcement. This year’s list includes new partner promotions in 29 cities around the world, reflecting CMS’s international strength and depth.

The Aberdeen-based colleagues moving up to partner level are Charlie Denham, from the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure Team, and Nicola Insley, a real estate and planning specialist.

They are joined by Abbie Harley, an employment law specialist, and Rebecca McGladrigan, from the firm’s Real Estate Team, who are both based in CMS’s Edinburgh office.

Overall, women account for 52% of this year’s global promotions across the firm.

Carol Nisbet, Managing Partner at CMS Aberdeen, said: “I’m delighted that Charlie and Nicola have been promoted as our newest partners in Aberdeen. Having worked closely with both, I have seen first-hand the expertise and commitment they bring to the firm. I look forward to working alongside them in their new role where they will further develop as leaders at CMS.”

Allan Wernham, Managing Director of CMS Scotland, said: “A huge congratulations to all our Scotland-based colleagues on their much-deserved progression to partner level. I look forward to working with them all and supporting the continued success of their practices.

“Our firm’s success is built first and foremost on our people with these promotions recognising our colleagues for the energy, integrity and leadership they bring to CMS every day.”

CMS’s annual partner promotions take into account promotions that take effect between 1 April 2025 and 1 April 2026.
