Next generation crew management solutions are set to take off in the north of Scotland, thanks to the launch of a new company.

Steve MacDonald has created Advanced Logistics Solutions (ALS) to provide a nimble and responsive end-to-end crew management solution.  He has set his sights on the energy and renewables industries with a collaborative approach already delivering opportunities in Caithness as the region develops its position as a hub in the renewables sector.

By forging alliances and collaborations with the likes of Offshore Helicopter Services UK Ltd (OHSUK), and others, Steve is drawing on almost 20 years’ experience as a logistics and ops co-ordinator to act as a focal point for centralised crew management.

By recognising the challenges posed by juggling separate crew management systems, ALS combines and streamlines operations in a fresh approach to logistics co-ordination which maximises Steve’s industry reputation and relationship-based approach garnered over almost two decades in the business.

Commenting on the launch of ALS, Steve MacDonald said: “Collaboration will be the name of the game when it comes to logistics and crew management in the renewables sector due to the multiagency approach on many projects.

“Our relationship-based service means we have full vision of availability across our partner organisations and when efficiency is paramount, our goal is to have personnel airborne as quickly as possible to ensure minimal disruption to the operations of our client companies.”

He added: “This backdrop makes it the ideal time to bring something fresh, nimble and turnkey to the table and ALS is simply putting a new name to something I’ve been doing for a long time.”

Michelle Innes, Director of Commercial and Service Delivery at OHSUK said: “There are significant opportunities in the offshore energy sector as it continues to develop and grow for OHSUK.

“We’ve had a long and productive relationship with Steve in the past, and we look forward to working with him and the team at ALS to capitalise and collaborate as the sector evolves.”
