David Jamieson, Salus Technical managing director and founder, said: “To say I am delighted to have Andrea on board is an understatement. Not only is she is an excellent process safety engineer but she also has experience in product management, which will prove invaluable as we further develop our Bowtie Master software package.”

Andrea moved from Sri Lanka to the UK to study for a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. Following her graduation, she spent 9 years working as a process safety engineer at Centrica. Working in engineering operations across the multinational group, Andrea led trials into the use of emerging technologies to improve these operations.

Andrea said: “I am thrilled to be joining David’s team at Salus Technical. He has a very clear direction of travel for the company, and is committed to enhancing the safety competencies of individuals, teams and organisations across a host of different sectors. I aim to contribute by utilising my current network to help support the growth agenda, whilst identifying other industries which could benefit from the software tools developed by Salus.”

Andrea will be supporting the roll-out of the company’s Bowtie Master software. A cloud-based application aimed at enhancing and streamlining the risk assessment process, Bowtie Master facilitates the building and sharing of bowtie diagrams, offering unprecedented capabilities to design, collaborate on and share these diagrams across disciplines and organisations.

As well as oil and gas, Bowtie Master can be used across a wide range of major hazard industries including aerospace, rail, construction and cyber security.
