Scottish IT company Converged Communication Solutions has made a series of appointments as it continues to expand its operations.

The independent Aberdeen-based firm, which specialises in providing Internet connections, telephone systems and IT support services, has appointed six new members of staff as part of its growth plans.  The appointments follow a period of major investment by Converged, which has seen it establish one of the most resilient connectivity networks in north-east Scotland and also open an office in Inverness.

Four new account managers have joined the company’s business development team.  They are Dundee-based Michael Gardiner, and Michael Watson, Sean Gordon and John Gillies who are all located in Aberdeen.

Michael Gardiner and Michael Watson both bring extensive business development and account management experience to their roles, which was built up in the property sector and the oil and gas and recruitment industries respectively.  Sean Gordon, who has a background in technical and creative industries, has joined Converged from another north-east IT provider.  While John Gillies, who is originally from Thurso, has worked in telecoms and IT roles for over 20 years, both in the technology and oil and gas sectors.

In support of recent growth, which has seen the firm’s workforce increase to 30 staff, Natalie Perks has been hired as HR consultant.  Based in its Inverness office, Natalie will work to strengthen and develop the firm’s human resource function.

Converged has also welcomed Robert Gordon University graduate Robyn Morewood, who has taken up the role of business administrator.  She will provide valuable administrative support across all areas of the business.

Alongside the appointments, the firm has promoted existing staff member Kyle Blyth into the newly created position of business analyst.  Kyle, who joined Converged in 2014, will work to develop and implement new processes and procedures that will streamline business operations.

Neil Christie, managing director of Converged, said: “Over the past 18 months we have made significant investments in building an extensive and robust connectivity network that enables businesses of all sizes to operate more efficiently and productively.  In support of that we have invested in our workforce, through training, promotions and the creation of new roles.

“These latest appointments strengthen our team, providing support across the company and adding extra momentum to our sales effort across the country.  Converged is currently going through an exciting phase in its development and each of the appointments will make a valuable contribution to the business as we move forward.”
