JG Ross, title sponsor of this year’s Taste of Grampian event, is inviting applicants to get creative to cook-up a recipe for an exciting new bake. Six finalists, selected by the JG Ross team, will be invited to the JG Ross bakery to take part in the semi-final on Thursday 21st May 2015 where they will have the opportunity to bake their own creation for the judging panel.

Two finalists will then compete at Taste of Grampian, on Saturday 6th June 2015, Thainstone Centre, Inverurie. The finalists will produce their creations alongside their mentors – Nancy Birtwhistle, last year’s winner of The Great British Bake Off along with fellow contestant Norman Calder.

JG Ross will produce both finalists’ products for sale on the day at the JG Ross stand; the finalist who sells the most will have the opportunity to donate the income from sales of their product to their chosen charity. The winner will be chosen by the audience, and be presented with a trophy on the day and they will see their product go into production to be sold across JG Ross Bakeries and Scotmid Stores.

Graeme Ross, Commercial Director of JG Ross, said: “We are delighted to be the title sponsor of Taste of Grampian this year. We like to listen to our customer’s ideas and this is an excellent opportunity to see what exciting products they can come up with; the photography will demonstrate their own interpretation of the product. We look forward to receiving the entries of our customer’s creations and crowing the winner at the final.”

John Gregor, Chairman of ToG and Executive Director at the ANM Group, said: “If you fancy yourself as a baker, this is an excellent opportunity to showcase your creativity and bakery skills, as well as have the experience of working alongside the Great British Bake Off celebrities, at this prestigious food festival.”

The closing date for entries is Monday 4th May 2015 at 5pm. Details of how to apply are on the Taste of Grampian website (under ‘competitions’).
