DEESIDE Holiday Park has been named Best Holiday Park at this year’s Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards. The park, which has been owned by the Wood family for over 10 years was devastated by Storm Frank in winter 2015. The family and team at Deeside have worked tirelessly to restore the park to its former glory – and winning this award is proof that hard work and determination pays off.

Wood Leisure has invested more than £3 million in new accommodation and facilities at Deeside since the flood damage; there is a wide choice of new self-catering accommodation available, including luxury hot tub lodges and modern holiday homes, to en-suite glamping and camping pods. The park also offers fully serviced pitches for tourers, motorhomes and campervans as well as a spacious grassy area for camping. Investment in the park facilities includes modern, heated toilet and showering amenities including accessible facilities, family bathrooms, indoor playroom and TV room, outdoor play park, duck pond and outdoor BBQ area.

Wood Leisure had received nominations for all 6 of their Scottish holiday parks across a number of categories, but faced very stiff competition across the board. Deeside’s sister park, Campsie Glen Holiday Park in Stirlingshire also had success on the night, winning Best Value Accommodation.

Sales and Marketing Director, Sarah Wood MacGregor, says: ‘We are absolutely delighted to win in 2 very competitive categories.   Thank You to all our customers and owners who have supported us over the years and voted for us!

We would like to congratulate all the other winners on the night, and say Well Done to all the finalists, as to even be nominated amongst such strong competition, is an achievement in itself.’
