WELL construction cementing specialists DeltaTek Global (DeltaTek), now part of energy services company Expro, is celebrating another award win with success at the 2023 Northern Star Business Awards. Taking home the coveted ‘Inspiration from Innovation Award’, this recognises the substantial impact DeltaTek’s pioneering technology has had on the energy industry.

Organised by the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, the Northern Star Business Awards saw a total of 65 organisations shortlisted across 13 categories. The accolades were awarded to those who have amassed impressive achievement in all areas of business, including challenging conventional thinking and positive commercial results.

DeltaTek Founder Tristam Horn said: “We are delighted to have received this recognition from the judges and the Chamber. The entire team are incredibly proud of the impact our technology has had on the industry, so to receive this award is a fantastic achievement for all of us.

“I first identified challenges in the well construction process and the growing need for cost-saving and risk-reducing products for the subsea market while I was working as a Drilling Engineer. I recognised the need for a simple system designed to optimise cement placement by utilising onshore cementing techniques within the subsea market, so our technology is a true reflection of the ‘Inspiration from Innovation’ title we have been awarded. Thank you to all of the judges, and congratulations to all our fellow award winners and finalists.”

Expro announced the acquisition of DeltaTek earlier this year. The acquisition allows Expro to broaden its offering, capabilities and technology portfolio within the well construction cementing sector, while accelerating DeltaTek’s international deployment ambitions through Expro’s global footprint.
