DENIS Law Legacy Trust has collaborated with the world’s only not-for-profit ball manufacturer to produce its latest batch of ethical #YesBallGames footballs.

Alive and Kicking, headquartered in London with bases across Africa, has supplied the Aberdeen-based Trust with a batch of unique balls which have been individually hand-stitched in Kenya.

The balls will be used to play with, to be proudly displayed and also to raise funds for the charity and its Streetsport programme through their annual fundraising dinner auction.

Alive and Kicking, like Denis Law Legacy Trust, is a member of streetfootballworld which is what first alerted the Trust of their work and matching values.

streetfootballworld use the power of football to transform societies for the better across the globe and are behind the ever-growing social enterprise Common Goal.

Mark Williams, the Trust’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Huge thanks to Alive and Kicking and their entire team for the quick turnaround and producing such a first-class football.

“It’s all the more rewarding to embark on projects like this when it’s with a fellow network member of streetfootballworld and knowing that we share the same values and like-mind ethos.

“Hopefully the campaign behind #YesBallGames continues to resonate with people and becomes a more relevant slogan for cities across the UK by following Aberdeen’s lead.”

Aberdeen was of course the first city in the UK to remove all ‘No ball games’ signs. Instead, local communities are encouraged to participate in sport and make use of their parks and green spaces.
