DEV4 Online Ltd, in partnership with Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) School of Computing, Engineering & Technology (SoCET), can  announce the launch of a feasibility study for the Artifical Intelligence (AI)-Enhanced Equipment Management Insights for Logistics and Analysis (AI-EMILiA) project. This initiative is supported by funding from Interface, enabling DEV4 to collaborate closely with leading experts from RGU and access specialist resources.

DEV4’s Equi-track platform is already helping companies manage and monitor equipment across warehouse and project sites. The AI-EMILiA feasibility study will explore the integration of advanced AI-powered predictive analytics into Equi-track. By leveraging machine learning and non-linear optimisation, the project aims to analyse & forecast equipment usage, condition, and maintenance needs—empowering businesses to make smarter, data-driven decisions.

The project brings together DEV4’s experienced software development team, with RGU specialists in AI, data science, and high-performance computing. This partnership is made possible through Interface’s support, which fosters collaboration between industry and academia in Scotland.

Gail Henderson, CEO of DEV4 Online Ltd, said: “This collaboration will be good for DEV4 Online and the team at RGU.  We aim to highlight that this technology has the potential to make a real difference in industry, and how our feasibility study will result in some positive implications we can carry forward.”

Dr Lee Christie, from RGU’s School of Computing, Engineering and Technology, said: “This project is a fantastic chance to be able to apply some of the potential for AI systems and put them to good use by offering businesses a system that can help improve their decision-making by embracing this exciting technology.”


The feasibility study will deliver a proof-of-concept for AI-driven predictive maintenance and asset utilisation. If successful, it will pave the way for a commercial rollout, further R&D investment, and expanded benefits for asset-heavy industries—including energy, logistics, and construction. The project is also expected to contribute to job creation in AI and software engineering and support more sustainable business practices.


This feasibility stage is part of a broader innovation roadmap for Equi-track, with future funding and development planned in partnership with DEV4 Online’s customers and public funding bodies.
