DELEGATES from the North-east construction sector will come together virtually this month to discuss the role of technology and digitalisation in building a sustainable future.

The Build It — Aberdeen Construction and Property conference and exhibition, will run from November 17-20 online after original plans were changed due to Covid-19.

Mike Wilson, Mearns & Gill managing director, who organises the event, said: “Very early into the pandemic, we could see that there was more need than ever to bring people together, we just had to find new ways of doing that.

“The construction industry prides itself in facing challenges head on, and finding creative, innovative solutions to problems, and we applied the same attitude to Build It.

“This year’s programme will absolutely reflect the challenges of 2020, as well as some of the unexpected positives that have come as a result, and it would be great to bring as many people together to share ideas and experiences from this time.”

Jennifer Young, Ledingham Chalmers’ managing partner and Law Society of Scotland-accredited construction law specialist, added: “It’s never been more important for us involved in the construction sector to come together and share what we’ve learnt, look at industry innovations and discuss what’s next, what works, and what doesn’t. And that’s why events like this are crucial.”
