John, who has been a member of BNI Alpha for 10 years and is the chapter’s president, says he has been given more than £1.5m worth of business in return in that time.

John said: “The givers’ gain ethos is certainly true. I’m delighted to have contributed to the success of other businesses, and that has led to people returning the favour in the past 10 years. BNI has been an integral part of the 2Circles success story. It really has provided a solid foundation in terms of generating business and making people aware of what do and what we can offer.

“Three of my referrals to one company led to those clients being a significant part of their annual turnover. For someone unhappy in her job, a referral into another company led to a change in her life and career for the better. BNI works on so many levels from business development to relationships that become long-lasting friendships.

“BNI should certainly be considered if you are looking to grow your business. It’s a fantastic route to market and an opportunity to build quality relationships if you do it the right way by investing your time and delivering on promises.”

Angela Kinghorn, executive director at BNI Scotland North, said: “John is a valued member of BNI who understands the ethos of going above and beyond to help fellow members. We congratulate him on his referrals which have led to £2m worth of business in the past 10 years for fellow members. It’s a first-class achievement.”

Business passed and business won by members is monitored by BNI via an online portal, which is updated after every meeting.
