A DISPUTE resolution expert from Scottish law firm, Brodies LLP, has been re-elected to serve a second term as president of The Society of Advocates in Aberdeen.

Ken MacDonald, who specialises in commercial disputes and international arbitration, is the first president in more than 40 years to have his term extended by election.

Commenting on his re-election, Mr MacDonald, said: “I am greatly honoured to have been asked by the management committee to serve another term and to have that proposal endorsed by our membership.

“Despite the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been able to continue to support our members, in particular, those at the beginning of their legal careers.”

Dating back to the 16th century, The Society of Advocates draws its membership from the legal profession in Aberdeen and the North east of Scotland. It exists to promote legal professional expertise and standards in the region.
