Diversity Bridge has launched “Aberdeen Belongs to Everyone”, a bold, year-long citywide campaign aimed at strengthening community cohesion across Aberdeen through education, dialogue, and positive engagement with young people and the wider public.

At a time when misinformation, social division, and far-right narratives are increasingly visible across the UK, the campaign offers a proactive and constructive alternative — one that centres on belonging, shared identity, and meaningful conversation, rather than fear or division.

The campaign will begin with a comprehensive secondary school engagement programme, with the Diversity Bridge team visiting schools across Aberdeen to deliver 30–40 minute interactive sessions. These sessions will focus on themes including belonging, identity, digital safety, challenging stereotypes, and building inclusive communities. Activities will include student-led discussions, myth-busting exercises, and a creative “Belonging Map”, enabling young people to explore what inclusion means to them in a safe and empowering environment.

Alongside the school programme, a community activation initiative will take place across Aberdeen city and shire. Volunteers will engage residents through street conversations and community outreach, gathering reflections on what belonging means to people from all walks of life. These insights will be transformed into digital stories, social media content, and public-facing campaign materials, amplifying positive voices and shared values across the city.

Edward Obi, Founder of Diversity Bridge, said:

“This campaign is about bringing people together at a time when division often dominates the conversation. Young people and community members are telling us clearly that they want Aberdeen to be a city where everyone feels they belong. ‘Aberdeen Belongs to Everyone’ celebrates the many voices that make this city vibrant and gives us all an opportunity to shape a more inclusive future together.”

“Aberdeen Belongs to Everyone” reflects Diversity Bridge’s ongoing commitment to fostering understanding, empowering young people, and creating spaces where differences are respected and valued.
