Double award success for Linton & Mac

30/06/2017

Aberdeen hairdressing salon, Linton and Mac, scooped Best Ultimate Large Salon at the Salon Business Awards 2017 earlier this week along with being shortlisted as one of six salons in the Independent Salon – Business Newcomer category at the British Hairdressing Business Awards 2017.

Jennifer Linton said of the win: “Being announced as the Ultimate Large Salon of the Year at the Salon Business Awards was super exciting and completely unexpected! We had brought 22 of our salon team with us from Aberdeen, so we definitely made some noise when our names were called out! This is an amazing accolade as the judge’s cherry-pick the winners for this category from each of the salon finalists.”

Joanne Charlton, Publishing Editor of Salon Business, “Each and every finalist helped to make the awards what they are today, ensuring the bar is raised year upon year. They certainly gave the judges a tough job, and now it is time to announce the awards.”

The shortlisting for British Hairdressing Business Awards is fantastic recognition for the brand’s co-directors, Jennifer Linton and Jaye MacDonald, as they have worked tirelessly to produce a boutique style salon that offers a bespoke, high quality service at an affordable price.

The salon is no stranger to the awards circuit and most recently scooped up the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award 2017 (June 6).

The British Hairdressing Business Awards, which are now in their 19th year, seek to find and celebrate the very best salon businesses in the country – an industry that contributes an estimated £7bn to the British economy and one that employs more than 300,000 people.

The Independent Salon – Business Newcomer category celebrates the owners of new independent salons, which are less than two years old. It recognises their goals and aims, but also the realisation of those plans in terms of success and future business growth.

Jennifer Linton and Jaye MacDonald, Co-Directors, Linton & Mac said: “It’s such an honour to be on the shortlist in this competitive category. A couple of years ago, our salon was just a dream – now it’s a thriving business with an exciting future. We are excited to see it go from strength-to-strength and these awards are a great confirmation that we’re on the right track.”

Says HJ’s Executive Director, Jayne Lewis-Orr: “Promoting professionalism, innovation and excellence, the British Hairdressing Business Awards recognise those individuals and teams who work tirelessly to raise the profile and stature of this industry, and make it one of which we can all be proud.

She adds: “New salons open all the time, but what makes them successful is a clear vision, defined goals and an owner who can motivate and inspire their team to deliver greatness. That’s what this exciting category is all about.”
