An enduring leader in the drilling and well engineering industry is marking a significant landmark in the company’s history.

Aberdeen Drilling Management (ADM) was founded in 2000 by Robert MacAndrew, with Andrew Tugwell joining soon after, both long-term industry professionals from operator and advanced drilling technology backgrounds, respectively.  Since then, the company has carved a strong reputation for excellence, innovation and safety.  To mark its 25th anniversary, and to ensure correct positioning for future growth, the consultancy is planning relocation of its headquarters closer to the city centre.

From modest start-up to globally respected leader in its field of industry advice and support, the company’s journey has been driven by staying ahead of industry trends and technological advancements, engaging and participating in cutting-edge solutions in the drilling and well engineering sector.

From decision and risk management, project/operational management and support to technical mentoring, competency coaching and expert witness services, the 5-strong core team supports client goals of reducing risk and achieving optimum results across their well, subsurface related issues and operations, utilising its extensive associate and industry network, with successful projects completed around the globe.

As the company looks to the future, building on the legacy of excellence is set to include expansion into emerging markets such as West Africa, Guyana and Suriname all of which sit firmly in the team’s sights.

Commenting on ADM’s 25th anniversary, management team member Doug Pirie said: “Celebrating 25 years is a remarkable achievement and is testament to the hard work, persistence and dedication of our team, now and in the past.  We are immensely proud of our journey so far and our plans to relocate to Aberdeen city centre will play an important part in the next phase of our story.

Martin Cox added: “We now look to the future with confidence and optimism as we continue our drive to raise the bar in service, safety and innovation.”
