DRILLING technology and service specialist NXG is looking towards international expansion and growing its staff numbers before the end of the year.

The firm, which has its head office in Altens and a machine shop at Longside, near Peterhead, recently secured American Petroleum Institute (API) 7-1 accreditation – an internationally-recognised certification.

It has now announced plans to recruit at least 10 additional staff – 6 in Aberdeen and 4 in Longside – with roles in sales, welding and CNC operations likely to be available.

Mark Stephen, NXG operations director, said: “As a UK-based manufacturing business, we have been delighted by a rise in the number of enquiries from global oilfield service companies in recent weeks.

“There is great scope for further international growth, and we hope to make an announcement on that soon.

“In addition, the attainment of a world-leading certification is a testament to the capability of the NXG team and our quality management systems. This validation by API gives our customers even greater assurance with regards to the quality and standard of our offering.”

The business, which also has bases in Dubai and Thailand, has invested more than £2m in the past three years in its facilities and infrastructure.
