In recent months, the firm’s fabrication division, eFab, has successfully achieved Building Information Modelling (BIM) Level 2 status from BSI Group for design, construction, and commissioning in accordance with ISO 19650:2018.
Believed to be one of the first sub-contractors in Scotland to have been awarded this prestigious status, BIM allows eFab to better detect and diagnose problems and enhance collaboration.
Following rigorous assessment of company principles, practices and procedures, eFab has also been re-accredited by Lloyd’s Register for EN 1090, the European standards that regulate the fabrication and assembly of structural steel and aluminium.
Another significant milestone came in the form of eGroup having its ISO 9001:2015 accreditation renewed by Lloyd’s Register.
Neil McDonald, eGroup ceo and chairman, said: “Together, these three achievements represent a welcome endorsement of the standards that define eFab as well as our wider company operations. They also provide assurance that eGroup has the processes and practices in place to provide a first-class service to our client base through each of our core business streams.
“During these challenging and unprecedented times, I have been encouraged to see everyone pulling together; the team has risen to the challenge to help support our clients, including essential workers across the region.
“The positive attitude displayed by all members of staff is to be commended and I am proud of how the company has maintained focus and drive during tough times, which should stand us in good stead for the future.”
eGroup has four specialist divisions operating under a single banner following the amalgamation of eBlast, eClad, eFab (formerly RIM Fabrications), and eTest (formerly CSD Scotland) in late 2018.
