As a result of the event, £1,000 has been raised for Scottish Network for Arthritis in Children (SNAC).
Trevor Mackie and Kevin Norrie, of SKN’s Aberdeen operation, secured the top prize, pipping recruitment business Coutts Mennie to the trophy. The winning pair received Castle Course framed flags after clinching the title.
Each year the tournament winners nominate a charity to benefit from funds raised during the following year’s event.
Last year’s winners, Santander, selected SNAC as the charity worthy of support in the 2017 competition.Under the stableford format, SKN won with a combined total of 74 points, with Coutts Mennie on 69 points. RAWC finished in third place on 63 points. Graham Cowie, of Nu Style and Cameron Diack of GAC, were winners in the nearest-the-pin competitions.
Craig Forsyth, sales director at DF Communications, said: “It was a fantastic day out for all the teams and another successful final after a summer of great golf and networking. SKN thoroughly deserved the win and hopefully will be back to defend the title next year.
“It was not only a great occasion for the event and the players, but a welcome boost for SNAC as it undertakes its valuable work.
“Looking forward to 2018, preparations are under way and we are confident it will be another hugely successful event.”
A total of 36 teams from the north-east played across a number of local courses between April and September, with the top two from six groups reaching the last stage. Matches over the summer were played in a fourball format with six teams in each division.
