Elgin’s Qismat Indian restaurant has been voted Scotland’s Favourite Curry House at the recent SPICE Awards.
Over 22,000 votes were cast in the inaugural year of SPICE – Scotland’s Premier Independent Curry Event to discover the best of the Scottish curry industry.
Qismat opened in 1987 and has won numerous awards throughout our years.
Liaqat Ali, owner of Qismat who won a Lifetime achievement award in 2015 for services in the curry industry said “We are very proud to have won the first Ever Scotland’s Favourite Curry House awards at this years Spice Awards, we would like to thank all our customers who have voted for us and supported us throughout all these years. “
Scotland’s Premier Independent Curry Event was created to reward the best of Scotland’s ethnic minority restaurants and those dedicated staff members contributing to this great industry. The SPICE Awards are free to enter and voted for solely by the public.
The SPICE categories cover the breadth of ethnic minority hospitality to celebrate the best businesses teams and chefs; these include Scotland’s Best Menu Selection, Scotland’s Best Buffet, Scotland’s Best Fine Dining and Best Curry House of the South, North, East, West and Central Scotland, among many others.
