A new express bus service connecting Dundee to Aberdeen Airport has been launched by Scottish electric transport firm Ember, providing a further boost to regional connectivity and sustainable travel options.
The E11 route, which made its inaugural journey on Wednesday morning, departs Dundee city centre at 8.13am and arrives at Aberdeen Airport at 11.32am. The return service leaves the airport at 3.00pm.
The route includes stops in Blairgowrie, Braemar and Banchory, offering passengers a scenic journey through parts of the Cairngorms National Park.
Initially operating with a single daily return service, Ember has confirmed plans to expand the timetable from August, adding more journeys and additional pick-up points. A fully registered service with broader coverage is expected to follow later in the year.
Single adult fares start at £5.70 for shorter journeys and rise to £10.50 for a one-way trip from Blairgowrie to Aberdeen Airport.
The introduction of the E11 service builds on Ember’s ambition to provide sustainable, accessible and zero-emission public transport across Scotland. It also strengthens Dundee’s position as a regional transport hub, following the recent addition of direct links to Edinburgh and Glasgow airports.
The service is powered by Ember’s fleet of electric coaches and reflects wider efforts across Tayside and the north-east to reduce carbon emissions and expand green infrastructure.
