Equinor responds to ‘suspected case’ of coronavirus

OIL giant confirms that they are “responding to a suspected case” of coronavirus.

Equinor reported yesterday that one of their workers had tested positive for the virus on its Martin Linge platform.

The individual is receiving advice from the onboard medic after being reported to have been showing “mild symptoms” at 6:20am yesterday.

A spokesman for Equinor said:

“Equinor can confirm that it is responding to a suspected case of COVID-19 on its Mariner A installation. The individual is receiving advice from the onboard medic and our medical services provider is taking advice from Health Protection Scotland. Our main priority is to ensure the safety and welfare of all people in the Mariner Field.”

“Equinor’s isolation procedure has been activated and we have mobilised emergency response support. We are working with the relevant authorities and agencies to assess and respond to the situation.”

Equnior revealed a case of coronavirus on its Martin Linge asset yesterday morning.
